What Is Adobe Express?

Adobe Express is a cloud-based content creation tool that allows to easily create graphics, documents, web pages, and videos. It is user-friendly and can be used by teachers and students alike to enhance learning in all subject areas.

Why Use It in Education?

Teachers today are overwhelmed with instruction that needs to be delivered in engaging ways to a wide variety of learners. With students today being extremely tech savvy, Adobe Express can be an excellent tool for teachers to evaluate how well students are comprehending lessons while making learning engaging and accessible to their students. Descriptive language can be a difficult concept to master, especially at the elementary level. By using Adobe Express to generate an image, students have to figure out how to describe their object to make it turn out successfully.

How to Get Started

Signing into Adobe Express is very simple for Garland ISD teachers. Simply navigate to the Staff Apps folder, and select Adobe Express. Then sign in using your Google account. This will bring up your dashboard. You will see a big widget titled Generate Image. In the text box, type descriptive words of the image you would like to create, then click Generate. This will take you to a new page where the image will eventually appear. On the left side, there is a text box at the top where you can change your wording, add to it, etc. Continue doing this until you have the image you want. To have your students share their image, you can click Share and choose the option that works best for you.

Tips

  • Caution your students about using broad descriptions as it may take them longer to generate the image they want. They need to be specific.

  • Try to avoid using copyrighted characters. This makes it harder to create what they want. For example, instead of Harry Potter, try young male wizard.

Conclusion

By incorporating Adobe Express into your teaching practice, you can make using descriptive language exciting and fun! Give it a try, and watch how it enhances learning in your classroom!
